Right 100% Of The Time

Right 100% of the Time

My sister, Beth, and I are six years apart, and despite living in different cities for more than 20 years (yikes!), we remain incredibly close. Neither of my siblings lives locally, but every other Christmas, they pack up their families and come home to visit our parents. The house turns chaotic, but in the best way possible.

A few years ago, amidst the holiday madness, Beth and I escaped to Mad Goat coffee. We spent four hours catching up, covering everything from work and fashion to parenting. We shared stories, sought advice, and by the end, we realized we agreed on everything. As we packed up to head home, Beth smiled and said, “This was great! I think we’re right 100% of the time.”

Since then, it’s become our inside joke and my go-to phrase whenever I need her advice. It's become a bit of a measuring stick for me. I want to surround myself with people I respect so much that when I seek their advice, I can trust them to be 'right 100% of the time.' While no one (besides Beth, of course) is truly right all the time, it's what I aim for in my circle—people who elevate my thinking and push me to grow.

Find Your Right

This brings me to Danielle, my marketing director. Her instincts are annoyingly right 100% of the time. I often joke that she drags me into marketing ideas kicking and screaming, but the reality goes something like this:

"Annie, we should do this thing that puts your face out there."

"Ya, I don’t want to do that, Danielle."

"I know you don’t, but I think it will work."

"Ugh, fine."

We do the thing. It blows up. "Dangit, you were right."

"I’m not one to say, ‘I told you so,’ so it’s helpful when you realize on your own."

Then do what they say.

It's incredible how often she's right. Every single time she pushes me outside my comfort zone, it works. We're branching into marketing not because I'm natural at it, but because what Danielle advises works—every time. And I think our clients could benefit from that advice. Each time she nudges me toward visibility, the results speak for themselves.

Rebranding? Check. Website update? Check. New headshots? Ugh, check. Reels, newsletters, merch? Double check. Writing this blog? Big check.

I’ve come to appreciate her approach, not because I enjoy the spotlight, but because she’s helped me find a way to engage that doesn’t feel forced. Danielle has shown me the value in these efforts and listens when I say, "I am not dancing on Facebook."

I’m not sure marketing will ever feel effortless for me, so my goal is to do it with minimal pain and maximum value. Maybe that’s your goal too. I know when my branding feels tired, or I’m hitting a wall with social media I can count on her to step in and turn chaos into clarity. When my website is feeling out of control she fixes it and hands me the back the keys. When I’m struggling to nail down my message, she listens, helps to organize my thoughts and crafts a message that hits home. She’s got a way of making everything click, even the stuff I didn’t know needed fixing.

So, if you know you should be marketing more and you want it to be more comfortable, call Danielle.

She’s right 100% of the time.
